About This Place

Nestled in the bustling heart of Mesa, Arizona, Teharu Sushi Mesa offers an inviting conveyor belt sushi experience that promises both delight and discovery with every plate. This vibrant restaurant serves up an impressive variety of freshly prepared Japanese cuisine, ensuring that sushi enthusiasts and newcomers alike find something to satisfy their cravings.

The vibrant colors and enticing aromas of dishes like the Dragon Roll, Volcano Roll, and Shaggy Dog Roll glide past diners on the conveyor belt, tempting guests to sample an array of flavors and textures. Fans of classic sushi rolls will appreciate options such as the Avocado Roll and Caterpillar Roll Sushi—the latter available by a minimum two-order set, making it a perfect choice for sharing. For those seeking something heartier, the Teriyaki Bowl bursts with rich, savory sauce that soaks every bite, while the Spicy Ramen and Udon deliver comforting warmth and depth.

Dessert lovers will find joy in sweet finishers like Strawberry Mochi Ice Cream, delicate Macaroons, and creamy Cheese Cake. The menu thoughtfully includes hand rolls, such as the Spicy Tuna and California Hand Roll, allowing for savory bites on the go. The inclusion of Japanese-inspired appetizers like Haru Poppers and crispy Chicken Wings broadens the experience, balancing texture with flavor.

Beyond the food, Teharu Sushi Mesa cultivates a lively yet relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for solo diners, casual dates, or group gatherings. The revolving conveyor belt adds an element of fun and discovery, encouraging guests to try new dishes at their own pace. The service complements this experience with attentive staff who enhance the friendly vibe without overwhelming the intimacy of the meal.

Real guests echo these sentiments: Al Romero shares that Teharu feels like a “secret hideout” where sushi lovers receive incredible value, especially during off-peak hours. Angela Carn praises the varied menu, highlighting standout favorites like the Shaggy Dog and Korean fried chicken. Honda Baby calls Teharu “hands down the best sushi” in the area, celebrating both the quality and affordability, perfect for date nights or casual indulgences. Even Doug Crumpton, who visited on a first date, raves about clearing 15 plates between two people for an amazing $50, emphasizing the variety and satisfaction.

While some reviewers note that certain items, like avocado on the rolls, can occasionally be a touch warm due to their time on the belt, this minor quibble is far outweighed by the overall freshness, flavor, and generous portions. The combination of authentic taste, attractive prices, and a dynamic dining experience makes Teharu Sushi Mesa a compelling choice for anyone seeking excellent sushi in a fun, accessible setting.

Whether you’re eager to savor crispy onion sushi rolls, indulge in spicy scallop hand rolls, or unwind with chilled sake and beer, Teharu Sushi Mesa warmly invites you to embark on a culinary journey where variety meets value—right in the heart of Mesa.

I was hesitant to write a review about this place. It felt like my own secret hideout. If you love sushi and you like an unbelievable value for your money... You owe it to yourself to check out Teharu. This goes double if you go during off-peak hours!

Always so good. So many items to choose from. Shaggy dog, Korean fried chicken, either of the jalapeno rolls. So good.

The teriyaki bowl had so much sauce I loved it. The rolls are good but sometimes the Avacado is a little too warm from sitting out.

Phenomenal! Wonderful spot solo or with a group or for a date! I brought a first date had no alcohol and we cleared 15 plates of sushi for about $50 and got to try a little bit of everything and we’re definitely full upon leaving! 10/10 would recommend only thing I’d say is a couple of items did look uncomfortably warm and we avoided them would love to see some higher quality meat at a place like this

The rolls were good, not the biggest selection on the conveyor belt. A lot of rolls filled with crab salad. But for the price it was decent.

Teharu Sushi is our go-to date night spot in Mesa! We’re completely obsessed with Teharu — it’s hands-down our favorite sushi restaurant. The conveyor belt setup makes it such a fun and casual experience, and the prices are unbeatable for the quality! They have an awesome variety of fresh sushi rolls, sashimi, and even desserts (try the mochi ice cream, trust me!). The $1 miso soup is the perfect cozy starter, and we love that we can try so many different items without breaking the bank. Everything always tastes fresh, and the staff is super friendly and attentive.
